People are finally getting the message: the economy is bad right now. Still, you can still hear the doubters on occasion; “Ford didn’t need the bailout, even if GM did;” “the whole mortgage crisis and foreclosure stuff is blown out of proportion;” “our infrastructure isn’t crumbling–that’s just the alarmists and media talking.” This is one of those times where a picture is worth a thousand words. Let’s go right to the heart of the current economic crisis, to the city that’s been hit worse than any other–Detroit, Michigan–and see what kind of picture a down economy can paint.
